Courtland Logue

Coke passed away surrounded by his family on September 5, 2011, at the age of 86.

Coke is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Evelyne “Eve” Logue, his parents, Thomas William Logue and Anna Irene Miller Logue, and his siblings, Lavona Margaree Smith, Murel Thomas Logue, Juanita Lorene Mason, Myrtle Bernice Evans, Kenneth William Logue, and Mary Irene Stanford.

Coke is survived by his three children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His children are Courtland L. (Corky) Logue, Bernadette L. McFarling and her husband John, Sr., and Chris L. Logue and his wife, Rachel. His grandchildren, including spouses are, Courtland L. (Corby) and Shana Logue, Kelly Patrick Logue, Shannon Catherine and Steven Owen, Ryan Joseph Logue, Clayton Christopher Logue, Jordyn Katherine Logue, G. Newell Bentley, K. Cooper Bentley and Sage Walker, J. Shelby Bentley, John McFarling Jr, Thomas and Kristi McFarling, Robert and Amy McFarling, Courtney Leigh Logue, and Christiana Leigh Logue. His great-grandchildren are Aidan Benjamin Logue, Scarlett Evelyne Logue, Elizabeth McFarling, Thomas McFarling, Jr., Ava McFarling, and Luke McFarling.

Coke is also survived by his only living sibling, Willie Roberts Spears of Bristow, Oklahoma, and his treasured sister-in-law, Muriel Logue of San Marcos.

Coke lived a long and wonderful life. Born in Sparks, Oklahoma, on January 25, 1925, Coke started life on a farm off a dirt road. He then joined the Navy and traveled the world. He was a consummate salesman and entrepreneur. Coke liked to golf, garden, dance and sing. He enjoyed walking and caring for the animals on the family ranch in Blanco, Texas. He enjoyed his final days on the family ranch where he tended to his vegetable garden and spoiled his dogs. This family patriarch will be missed.

Recitation of the Rosary will be on Friday, September 9, 2011, at 7 p.m. at St. Ferdinand Parish at 25 Main Street in Blanco, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there also on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Coke and his family request that donations be made to the Paulist Priests, 2026 Guadalupe, Austin, Texas 78705 or St. Ferdinand Parish at 25 Main Street, Blanco, Texas 78606.

The family extends its special thanks to St. David’s Hospital and Rehabilitation Center and its nurses, staff and physicians for their warm and compassionate care of Daddy.
