Dave was born on 29 October 1941 to David Alex and Florence Coupel in Bayou Sorrel, Louisiana. Dave joined the US Army as a young man. While stationed in Germany Dave met Judy Ann Bryant. They married shortly after, and went on to have two children, Dana Lynn and David Joseph
After serving two tours in Vietnam and serving his country in many locations in the states over a 22-year-long career, he retired as a Command Sergeant Major in 1980 and the family moved to Burnet, Texas, at which time he started his first job in civilian life.
In 1999 Dave and Judy permanently retired and spent time traveling in their RV, with him spending as much as time as possible in a boat on a lake fishing.
Dave was predeceased by his Father, David Alex; Mother, Florence; brothers Carl, Kenny and Ernie; sister Beverly.
He is survived by Wife, Judy; Daughter, Dana; Son David; Grandchildren Jonathan Chance Watson; Amanda Jolly and David Coupel; Brothers Travis and Russell; Sister Lynette; and Sister-in-law Jonnie Bryant.
