

Doris was a graduate of Danville High School and was retired from GeoSource where she worked as a secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband James L. Christopher, who she married September 16, 1946, in Ohio. Doris was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bay. She enjoyed sewing and baking and considered her biggest achievement was raising her family and enjoying time with her 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Three words that sum up her life are devotion, faith, and love.
Doris is survived by her children Randy Christopher and wife Carol, Ann Cooperrider, Jane Walters and husband John, James L. “Jimmy” Christopher, Jr. and wife Janice, Patricia Hernandez, David Christopher and wife Judy, and Nancy Cohen. Also surviving is her brother Donald Butts, sister Marie Smith, as well as her 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her husband James L. Christopher in 2006 and brothers Richard Butts and Louis Butts.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Monday evening June 30 from 6 to 8 pm with Rosary at 7pm. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday morning at 10 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bay with Father Ruben Patano officiating and Lay Readers Amy Reed, Angela Hernandez, and Kerri Cohen-Elliott. Interment will follow Tuesday afternoon at 4 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg, TX. Those named as pallbearers were Randy Christopher, James L. Christopher, Jr., David Christopher, Michael Cohen II, Brandon Christopher, and James L. Christopher, III.
