

Our dearest mother/grandmother/great grandmother Doris Montoya, age 93, of Marble Falls, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday November 13th, 2018, called to Heaven by our Heavenly Father.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Casimiro “Shorty” and Inez Castañeda; siblings, Concha Hernandez, Mary Ribera, Lupe Ribera, Rose Besa, Joe Castañeda, Jesse Castañeda, Manuel Castañeda Sr, and grand daughter Tiffany Lerma.
She is survived by her children Doris Robertson and husband David, Rosie Guerrero, Sammy Montoya and wife Tami, Mary Conners, Debbie Feist and husband Steve, Linda Ortiz and husband Ruben, and Carolyn and husband Tim Acuna, and Jimmy “Jimbo” Salazar; 25 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren.
She met her future husband Mike at the Stephen F Austin hotel. They were married on April 6th 1953 in Austin, Tx, where they remained until 1957 when they moved to Marble Falls. They loved dancing together at the 281 club in Round Mountain.
Doris was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her soap operas, cheering on her beloved New York Yankees, bargain shopping with her children, and cooking for anyone fortunate enough to be a guest in her home. She loved the color lavender, drinking coffee in the morning and watching the news. She loved the holidays, with Christmas being her favorite and her Christmas tree wasn’t complete without candy canes. The Hallmark channel and the Lifetime channel were two of her favorites to watch in the evenings. She loved sweets and had specific favorites- apple pies and ice cream from McDonalds, 1905 Creamy Creations ice cream, chocolate covered cherries, and hard Christmas candies. She will forever be remembered for her signature red lipstick and extravagant jewelry. She was truly one of a kind and will always be in our hearts.
