Emily Scott

Emily Belle Scott, 88, of Meadowlakes died December 13, 2011. Born January 14, 1923 in North Carolina, Emily was the daughter of Pehlem McMichael and Leila (Dawson) McMichael. She had a master’s degree in Fine Arts and taught in schools in Maryland. She moved to Meadowlakes in 1981 after retiring.

Emily was very active in her church and the Highland Lakes Art Guild. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Michael & Kathy Scott of Millersville, Maryland; daughter and son-in-law Karen & Phillip Chesher of Marble Falls; daughter Diane Scott of Meadowlakes; sister Dorothy Oliver of North Carolina and grandchildren Stephanie Scott, Michelle Scott, Joseph Edwards, Brian Golden and Kevin Golden.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Scott, grandson Scott Murray and brother Jack McMichael.

Memorial service will be Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ellen Ely officiating.
