Jack was born August 17, 1943, in Brownfield, Texas to Royal & Tincy Bandy.
He grew up in Plains, Brownfield and Weatherford. Jack graduated top of his class in Weatherford.
Jack moved to the Marble Falls area in the early 70’s to pursue a career in road construction and dirt work. For a number of years, he and his brother Don built subdivisions and roads in Austin, Lago Vista, Horseshoe Bay and numerous other locations. He contracted a number of highway jobs for TxDot as well. Throughout his tenure, numerous engineers would come to him on difficult jobs and say “Jack, just fix it” and he did. He also helped contract jobs for pipeline and oil field work in addition to always selling real estate.
Jack met his true love Nancy in 1980, and they married in 1982.
Jack loved to hunt and looked forward to deer season every year. He anticipated traveling to New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, or any location where he could obtain a hunting tag and enjoy the experience with his close companions. Seldom did he come home without one! Three of his grandchildren took their first deer sitting next to Grandpa Jack.
Jack loved to work and hunt but most of all he loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy, sons Jackie Bandy (Lisa), and Glen Portie (Gwen), daughters Shanney Velwood and Jodi Long (Don), eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will forever be in our hearts.
