

James Willard Dunham, 88, passed away on April 27, 2015 at Spanish Trail Assisted Living in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Jim was born on February 8, 1927 to James William Dunham and Myrtle Maude Dunham in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Jim spent his early life on his parents’ farm in southeast Loveland. During the post-World War II years, he proudly served as an aerial photographer in the United States Army.
Upon his return to civilian life, Jim worked at the J.C. Penney stores in Loveland and Ft. Morgan. He married Leila Jean Jacobson on June 20, 1954. Shortly thereafter, he purchased the Jack and Jill Shop in downtown Loveland and began a successful clothing business that he later renamed Dunham’s. After many happy years as a retailer, Jim retired in 1990.
Jim enjoyed antiques, automobiles, and music. He treasured his family and the friends he made over the years, and he always enjoyed socializing with his former customers.
Jim is survived by his wife, Leila Dunham, of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; daughter RaNae Dunham Inghram of Spicewood, Texas; cousin William Morris of Thornton Colorado; cousin Ruth Ann MacGregor of Grants Pass, Oregon; cousin Doris Barber of Gunnison, Colorado; nephew Richard Dunham of San Bruno, California, and nieces Brenda Martin and Sharon Gonsalves of Lake Havasau, Arizona.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James William Dunham and Myrtle Maude Dunham; his sisters, Anita Cody, Myrtle Hunt, Helena Manifold, and Ruth Rosolini; and his brothers, Art Dunham, Lloyd Dunham, Bob Shumway, Claude Shumway, Forrest Shumway, Jack Shumway, Richard Shumway, and Spencer Shumway.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held in Loveland at a later date.
