James Kenneth Strieter

Jim was born Nov 14, 1927 in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Leo and Florence (LaVear) Strieter. He graduated from Ann Arbor High School and then served in the US Navy.

On October 29, 1949, he married Shirley (Stoll) and she preceded him in death in 2009 after 59 years of marriage.

Jim and Shirley moved to Midland in 1950. Jim worked for the Dow Chemical Company for 38 years in the employee relations department. He played for the Dow A.C’s World Champion Softball Team.

Jim was a devoted husband and enjoyed greatly the time he spent with his family and friends.

Jim enjoyed sports! He played golf for many years and never missed watching a U of M football game. He truly looked forward to each Saturday in the fall to attend games, tailgating and being with other

U of M fans.

He will be missed by his children, Sharon Koos of Ann Arbor, Susan (Clyde) Krantz of Midland, and James

Michael (Fran) of Marble Falls, TX, his grandchildren, Stacey Koos, Michelle (Dean) Dittenber, Sarah

Pfenninger (Lance), and Kody Strieter, his great grandchildren, Emma and Ellie Dittenber and Mya and Max Pfenninger.

In honor of Jim’s request, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will take place at a later date at Midland Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a place or organization of their choice in Jim’s memory.

Arrangements for Jim were entrusted to the care of Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home of Marble Falls, Texas and Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home of Midland.
