

He went to work on the Swenson Ranch at the age of 15 and worked there for 14 years. He took a short hiatus to serve in the Marine Corp (July 31, 1945 – April 14, 1946) towards the end of World War II.
He worked for Haley Oil out of Spur, Texas for 10 years.
JC was an avid polo player and traveled across the US playing polo.
He moved to Marble Falls in 1969 and began a 20 year career in the concrete business.
JC loved to dance. He was the ladies’ favorite partner for a good country western two step or waltz.
He loved growing beautiful roses.
JC enjoyed making saddles (all 160 of them!) along with purses, belts and billfolds. He was quite the leather artisan.
He loved and adored spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
He was famous for taking tacos to some of them during their high school years.
JC was baptized on April 13, 1994 alongside his granddaughter by the late Brother Max Copeland.
He is survived by his two sons, David Cornelius and Jim and wife, Mojo Cornelius, four grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, all of Marble Falls. He is also survived by a sister, Lee Klatt of Lubbock, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lou Ella Cornelius, brothers, Virgil Cornelius, John ‘Tan’ Cornelius, Kenneth Cornelius and Joe Cornelius.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Marble Falls, Texas with Funeral Service following at 1:00 pm.
