Joe Luis Veloz, 59, of Granite Shoals, Texas, passed away on April 8, 2026. He had a way of turning strangers into friends and spread joy every chance he could. Known for his selfless nature, Joe was always there when someone needed him. He loved deeply and showed it through his constant acts of service and care for others.
Joe was born in Burnet, Texas, and raised in Marble Falls, Texas, to his parents, Martha Alicia Veloz Torres and Teodoro Veloz Ochoa. He built a life through hard work in construction, mastering many trades including drywall, texture, painting, carpentry, and tile work. He especially loved working with wood and building things with his hands. More than anything, he took pride in sharing his knowledge — always ready to lend a hand on any project, big or small, to family, friends, or anyone who needed help. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, where he volunteered his time and continued to bring light and laughter into his community.
Joe found his greatest joy in being with his family — his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended loved ones. He loved the outdoors, staying busy, building things, and listening to music; often blasting it wherever he went and singing along. He will be remembered for the unforgettable memories he created, his authentic spirit, and his ability to make anyone laugh. All he ever wanted was to enjoy life and make sure others did too.
He is survived by his children, Dr. Jose Castaneda, Angel Castaneda, and Sebastian Castaneda; his grandchildren, Emilio, Tiana, Sebastian, Olivia, Cameron, and August; his siblings, Teo Veloz, Julieta Veloz, and Jaime Veloz; his nieces and nephews, Sergio, Damaris, Martha, Alicia, Nicholas, Gerardo, Aiden, Yesenia, Jessica, and Abraham; along with many aunts, uncles, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Donna Glover.
Services will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, Texas. Time and date pending.
Joe will be remembered for his generous heart and unwavering selflessness that touched everyone who knew him. He was truly an amazing man whose laughter was infectious and whose presence made life brighter. His legacy lives on in the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the countless smiles he leaves behind.
