Throughout his entire life, Joshua was loved by almost everyone he met; his family cared for him deeply. Joshua was known to be happy-go-lucky, kind-hearted, soft-spoken and generous. He always had an optimistic view of life, and was more than willing to help others. Joshua loved spending time with his wife of 21 years, and his family.
He was a sci-fi enthusiast throughout his life. Joshua was enthralled by his interest in technology. Joshua worked for the same tech firm for 25 years. From childhood and most of his life he enjoyed playing video games. Josh collected random bits of worldly knowledge and would converse with you on many subjects. Joshua loved his dogs, cats, bbq places, appreciated a range of music and really enjoyed living out in the country in central Texas, which was one of his life long goals that he had achieved. With great enthusiasm he would watch many UT Longhorn football games with his mother and father, especially in his last years of life.
Joshua is survived by his loving wife, Christine Lea Kidd; his father, Jimmy M. Kidd; his mother, Vicki Kidd; his two sisters, Mary Katherine Kidd and April Godina (husband James Godina); and his nephews, Dylan and Gavin Godina. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Lori Gonzalez-Holder, her husband Michael Holder, and their son, Zar Parker. Joshua is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Bud and Mary Lockhart (maternal), and Jim L. Kidd and Sue Kidd (paternal); as well as his cousins, Whitney Rodgers and Kelsey Kidd.
The family would like to say we are very grateful to the staff and nurses of Hospice-Austin and M.D. Anderson nurses and doctor’s who cared for Joshua, especially Dr. Barbara O’Brien and Dr. Franco DeMonte of MDA.
