Born on December 20th, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, Julie lived a life marked by a strong spirit, a sense of humor, and unforgettable memories shared with family and friends.
While living in Midland, Texas, she met the love of her life, David Howard, in 2005. They moved to Kingsland, Texas, and enjoyed their days on the boat or sitting lakeside on their porch. They were married on February 29th, 2008.
She worked at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home for the past 11 years, supporting her coworkers, who became friends and family to her. She offered comfort, kindness, and compassion to families in the community during some of the hardest moments of their lives.
She lived a life full of creativity, laughter, strong opinions during football season, and unconditional love. She was talented with a needle and thread, spending countless hours sewing and quilting beautiful, handmade pieces that her family will cherish forever.
When she wasn’t sewing, you could usually find her watching NASCAR, UFC fights, or cheering – and occasionally yelling – at the television during football games. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, and though it hasn’t “been our year” recently, she certainly made many monetary donations to the hypothetical swear jar on her counter.
She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, always surrounding those with a loving heart, humor, and sarcasm. She loved and was fiercely loved by her family. She was the kind of mom, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend who showed love through homemade gifts, honest advice, warm meals, and compassion that was bigger than the state of Texas.
Julie is survived by her husband, David Howard; two children, Joseph Bull and Nicole Beseda; three stepchildren, Jennifer Featherstone, Melissa Howard, and Benjamin Howard; a “baseball team” of grandkids, also known as nine of them; her mother, Rosalie Bobo; sister, Theresa Hambrick and husband Ray, brother Brandon Shelton; nieces and their spouses; her dog, Tucker; and many more family and friends who will greatly miss her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Billy Bobo, and her mother-in-law, Dorothy Howard.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and probably always yelling at the Cowboys.
In lieu of flowers, Julie asks that donations be made to the Hill Country Humane Society by calling 512-793-5463 or to any animal shelter of your choosing.
