

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathleen Ellis Meredith of Johnson City, Tx. She passed peacefully in the early hours of May 12, 2026 at the age of 84 leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories.
Kathie was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandparent and cherished friend. She cared deeply about her family and friends and she had a gift for making everyone around her feel welcomed, valued and loved. Her laughter was contagious and her hugs were as warm as the Texas sun.
Kathie was born in Weslaco,Texas and was the beloved daughter of John T. Ellis and Florence Ellis. Kathie moved to Austin around 1960 where she lived for over 50 years. She worked as a personal assistant to attorney Kuy Kendahl. She later was employed by the Texas Attorney General's office as an investigator in the Antitrust Division. After many years of service she left the Attorney General's office to work for Attorney Bill Wilms where she later retired after developing health issues.
In 2014 Raymond and Kathie settled in the small town of Johnson City, a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Austin. She often spoke fondly of her childhood and loved to tell stories of the many adventures she and Raymond shared. Kathie had wonderful lasting friendships that remained close throughout the years.
Kathie was an avid fan of the Texas Longhorns. She enjoyed reading, shopping and spending time with family and friends. Since the beach was her happy place she would jump at any chance to head to the coast fo feel the sand between her toes.
Kathie is survived by Raymond Meredith her loving husband of 45 years, daughter Misty Meredith, daughter in law Dawn Small, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and children Robert Andrew Small, Raymond Meredith Jr., Raylene Neeley and Billy Jean Meredith.
Kathie will be deeply missed by all. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter and love that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
