Born and raised in Houston, TX, on August 17, 1982, Lesli grew up in a vibrant household filled with love and laughter, setting the stage for the joyous life she would lead.
Lesli accepted Jesus in her life on December 18, 1994 at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Houston, TX.
Lesli had a free spirit and a love for adventure, packing a lot of life into her short time here on earth. After graduating from Lake Travis High School and attending Austin Community College for a while, her wanderlust took her around the world. She worked as a flight attendant with SkyWest Airlines, as an au pair to a professional tennis player in Sweden, and as a server on Norwegian Cruise Lines before finding her way back to Austin, TX, where she eventually settled down, spending over a decade with Gracy Title.
Lesli was an amazing friend, known for her smile and vibrance that could light up any room. She had a unique way of making everyone’s lives better just by being a part of them. She loved hosting fun-themed parties and always welcomed everyone as if they were long-time friends. Lesli was very social. You could always find her playing in various sports leagues, engaging in friendly games, watching football every Sunday, going to concerts, or simply relaxing outside on the lake or by the pool. Her love for her friends was boundless.
Above all, Lesli was a devoted mother to her son, Caleb, whom she lovingly called her heart and her sweet boy. They shared many precious moments together, but one of their favorites was singing during bath time. Those moments were filled with laughter, love, and a connection that will forever be cherished.
Those who knew Lesli will truly miss the bright light she brought to their lives; may she continue to shine bright forever in our memories. Our lives are better because she was part of it, and her memory should always bring a smile to our faces.
Lesli is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Michael Brooks, the joy of her life, her cherished son, Caleb Michael Brooks, her devoted mother Mary Lynn Ray, her beloved sister Nicole Ray Alvarez & husband Manuel, and her beautiful nieces and nephew Austin, Sarah & Presley Alvarez.
She was preceded in death by her adoring father Don W. Ray, wonderful grandparents Jack & Cleo Shields and Fred & Hazel Ray, and her loyal dog, Gracie Loo.
