Linda Kay Wilson

Memorial services for Linda Wilson will be held August 14, 2025, at 11am at the Church of Horseshoe Bay located at 600 Hi Ridge Road. Linda, age 77, passed away on July 10, 2025, in Horseshoe Bay, Texas after a difficult battle with ALS. Her warmth and kindness touched many lives.

Born August 14, 1947, in Andrews, Texas to Bill and Betty Luck, she spent her childhood playing with her sisters and cousins and learning to dance and twirl at Jan's School of Dance.

She graduated from Andrews High School where she was a twirler in the marching band, member of the Thespian Society, National Honor Society and the Quill and Scroll Journalism Honor Society and where she met her loving husband, Harold Wilson. They married in 1964, moved to Odessa, had a son and a daughter and were happily married for 61 years.

A devoted scholar, she received her Bachelor's Degree In English from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB) in 1991 graduating Cum Laude. In 2001, she received her Master's Degree in History also from UTPB. Linda helped shape the hearts and minds of her students teaching them English and History at Odessa High School for 19 years. Linda coached the Decathlon Team and was a mentor for the International Baccalaureate program, encouraging students to become lifelong learners. She retired in 2011.

She was active at both St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Odessa and the Church of Horseshoe Bay in Horseshoe Bay where she and Harold moved after their retirement. As a lifelong learner herself, Linda taught in the Seekers Class. She enjoyed reading, genealogy, playing bridge, bunco and mahjong in retirement. Linda’s life was marked by a devotion to family, education and community.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Betty Luck, her parents-in-law Vivian Wilson and Harold Wilson and her son Jeffrey Wilson. She is survived by her husband Harold D. Wilson, daughter Heather and her husband John Hanna, sister Terri Cox, nieces Sarah Cox, Megan Gideon and Lauren Uhrynowycz, 2 great nephews and two great nieces, many cousins including Cathy Luck Ehrenfeld, brother-in-law Terry Wilson, and Nancy Ham and her family.
