

Gertrude Elizabeth (Harvell) Ratliff, lovingly known to all as “Liz”, passed peacefully in her sleep on November 4, 2025, at the age of 73. She was born June 4, 1952, in Victoria, Texas, to William Henry “Buck” and Angelina Sophia “Angie” (Smith) Harvell.
Liz, class of ‘70 at Bloomington High, married her childhood friend and sweetheart, Jesse William “JW” Ratliff, on June 3, 1970, the day before her 18th birthday. Together, they made a beautiful life and legacy, raising their two sons, Jesse Ratliff Jr. and Jamie Ratliff.
Deep in her heart, Liz carried a steadfast faith in Jesus Christ. She was a devoted Baptist and longtime member of First Baptist Church of Marble Falls before becoming a founding member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Marble Falls, Texas. Her faith was evident in the love, generosity, and loyalty she extended to every person God placed in her life.
Liz is survived by her sons, Jesse W. Ratliff Jr. and Jamie L. & Audra Ratliff; granddaughters Martha Elizabeth (Ratliff) & Michael Aube, and Jessica Lynne Ratliff; grandson Colton Lee Ratliff; great-grandsons Koda Hansen and Pierce Aube; sister and brother-in-law Linda & Brad Yusko; brother & sister-in-law Billy & Delores Harvell; brother Mike Harvell; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; and countless extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law Winifred & Eula Ratliff; her beloved husband, Jesse W. Ratliff Sr.; her grandson Kevin William Ratliff; her sister and brother-in-law Brenda & Ronnie Ratliff Sr.; and her brother Danny Harvell.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church in Marble Falls, Texas, with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse in Liz’s honor — supporting the kind of compassionate ministry she valued throughout her life.
Liz was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a caring sister, and a faithful friend. She will be deeply missed, yet joyfully remembered by all whose lives she touched.
