As a young woman, Marti knew that she wanted to travel and see the world. She flew for American Airlines and worked for Continental Airlines as a travel agent. All of these endeavors allowed her to travel to South America, Europe and sail on the QE2. In later years, Marti and her husband Ted would sail on the Windstar and travel to Kona, Hawaii. Marti also lived in many US cities: Houston, Scottsdale, Santa Fe, San Diego, Hamilton, Montana and recently Horseshoe Bay.
Marti was an avid golfer and a consummate volunteer. She was always willing to help those in need and she delivered food treats to her local policemen. She started a genealogy group in Hamilton where she gave monthly reports. She was a regional Vice President of Clan Ferguson and a proud member of the Roberts family, which settled in Central Texas in the early 1800s. Marti was also a proud “Daughter of the Republic of Texas”. Upon moving to Horseshoe Bay, she became a member of ‘The Church at Horseshoe Bay.’
Marti is survived by her husband Ted, her Godson Michael, her step-sons David and family and Steven and family. A memorial service will be conducted on January 4 at 1:00 pm at the Church at Horseshoe Bay.
