

Mitchell was born April 4, 1963, in Blackwell, Oklahoma to James and Sandra K (Bass) Dewey, he was the second child of 5 siblings. Mitchell was raised in Blackwell Oklahoma, where he attended Blackwell Oklahoma High School. He was passionate about football, wrestling and track. He graduated in 1981.
Mitchell married his high school sweetheart Terry Howard in Ponca, Oklahoma on November 19, 1983. They were happily married for 38 years. Mitchell was a proud father of 3 children Brian, Eric and Rachel Dewey.
Mitchell and Terry moved to Fort Hood, Texas in 1983, where he was stationed with the Battery First Battalion 77th Field Artillery First Cavalry Division. He was Honorably discharged in 1985, then moved to Marble Falls, Texas, where he started working for Texas Granite and worked there for 13 years, then with Artistic Granite for 26 years. Mitchell was passionate about working for the Granite Shoals Fire Department where he was a Lieutenant and Safety Officer for 10 years.
Mitchell loved watching Oklahoma Sooners football games on Saturdays and enjoyed thrill seeking that included skydiving, cliff diving, and playing sports with the kids and grandkids. He enjoyed playing golf on Saturdays with his boys. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and vacationing with his family at the beach in the summertime and having lots of family gatherings with his wife, kids and grandkids.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents James and Sandra Dewey, baby sister Jaylyn Dewey, older brother Johnny Dewey, paternal grandparents Fern and Frances Finley, and maternal grandparents John R and Maxine Bass.
Mitchell is survived by his wife Terry Dewey, son Brian and wife Jennifer Dewey of Marble Falls, son Eric Dewey of Kingsland, daughter Rachel Dewey of Burnet, grandchildren Ryan and wife Nataile Dewey of San Angelo, Nathan and wife Sydney Mezger, Tyran Dewey, Jordan Dewey and Brylee Dewey of Marble Falls, Dylan Dewey, Alexis Dewey, Destiny Dewey, of Kingsland, Jalynn Roper, Preslie Dewey and Colton Thompson of Burnet and great grandchildren LoriAnn Dewey, Alayah Dewey and Loren Mezger. Sisters Shanie and husband John Day of Oklahoma and Sheri and husband Jeff Day of Louisiana and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Viewing will be at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, Texas, on December 16, 2021 from 5pm to 8p.m. Funeral Services will be December 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls. Graveside services at Lakeland Hills Memorial Cemetery on Park Road 4, followed by a Reception at The First Assembly of God Church, 96 Main St. Marble Falls, Texas, for food and refreshments.
