

Raymond Burgess Williamson, born on July 31, 1928, in Driftwood, Texas to Buddy and Alice Williamson, passed away on October 3, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers.
Ray spent his childhood on his family’s ranch and farm. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a veteran of the Korean War, and a respected businessman in Austin, Texas, opening American Floors on South Congress Avenue in 1965. Ray sold his business in 1985 and built a farm and ranch in the Ozark Mountains where he spent some of his most joy filled years.
Ray retired to Spicewood, Texas in 1995. It was here that he became a respected member of the Spicewood Church of Christ. Ray was a loving husband, father, Papa, and friend. He taught his kids, by example, how to work, how to laugh, and how to have fun, which are the greatest lessons a father can give.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Williamson, his children and daughters-in-laws David Williamson, Damon Williamson (Cathy Williamson), Gaynell Blanchard, Donald Blanchard (Blanca Blanchard), David Blanchard (Sonia Blanchard), 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls. Interment with military honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the Phillips Cemetery near Dripping Springs.
Instead of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Ray can be made to cancer research or Scott & White Hospice.
