He is the first of five children born to Holton & Reta (Ross) George.
Robbi is survived by his parents, brother Daryl George of Richmond, TX, sisters Lisa Hornbrook and husband John of Plano, TX Lori Hanson and husband Tod of Weatherford, TX and Linde Francis and husband Keith of College Station, TX. Also, he is survived by four nephews, three nieces, aunts, uncles and many, many cousins.
Robbi was born totally deaf and legally blind with 5 heart defects (a CHARGE Syndrome individual diagnosed in the early 90’s). He was educated at the Alabama Institute for the Deaf-Blind in Talladega, AL for 11 years from age 6 to 17 coming home summer and Christmas holidays. Returning home sick with a heart infection he received open heart surgery to correct all the heart defects including tetralogy of the fallot at John Sealy hospital in Galveston. He was the first deaf-blind client at TRC in San Antonio from age 17 to 32 spending 1 year in Austin school for the deaf-blind and two years at home with parents. In the early 90’s he returned home and worked with the Interface Industries living in a group home in Marble Falls. In 1999, he went to the Helen-Keller National Center in Long Island, NY for rehab after becoming totally blind and stayed 13 months. Returning home to Marble Falls he lived in a group home several years under the direction of Blue Bonnet Trails and worked at Pizza Hut for 13 years in Marble Falls and Burnet after receiving training in NY. Robbi’s health began to fail him in 2012. His last 14 months, he was on hospice care with Seton Home Care.
Visitation will be Friday, February 21, 2020, at 10:00 am at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls and the Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the George Cemetery in Teague, Texas.
