

She died in her sleep at home June 9, 2025 after fighting Multiple Sclerosis since 1995.
She is survived by spouse Joe D. Summers, sons Billy, Danny and Gary Summers, four grandsons Seth, Nathan, Pierce and Henri Summers, two granddaughters, Luka and Nelle Summers, two great granddaughters Emily and Siobhan Summers and two great grandsons, Asher and Sterling Summers and many friends throughout the United States.
She met her husband of 66 years, Joe, in Norman, OK in the Summer of 1958. They subsequently married on Sept 4, 1959, in Dill City. She followed him throughout his career as a Petroleum Engineer throughout the Southwest, Pennsylvania and Nizhnevartovsk Siberia, Russia. They returned to Houston and retired to Meadowlakes in 2002.
During her time in Houston, she continued her education at Houston Community College in writing, and English composition to advance her proficiency in those areas. She loved writing and later published two editions of “He is Faithful, Poems of the Heart” which she gave to friends and strangers.
She also became a lifelong member of P.E.O. International, a Women’s Organization that funded young women with Scholarships and Tuition loans and supported Cottey College, a Liberal Arts Women’s college in Missouri.
While in Russia, she purchased and distributed 250 Russian Language Bibles to Christians and agnostics alike, while attending a Russian Orthodox Church.
After retiring to Meadowlakes, she became a member of the H.O.P.E. class and the First Baptist Church of Marble Falls and the Granite Hills Luncheon Club.
She will be missed by friends and family alike. However, she is where she wants to be, with her Lord and Savior.
