Born in Chicago in 1945 to Joseph and Harriet Kamin, who preceded her in death, Betty led a life filled with dedication, adventure, and love. She attended St. Thomas More Parochial School, Longwood Catholic High School, and Chicago State University, where she earned a Master's Degree in Geography. Betty devoted 33 years of her career to educating young minds as a fourth and fifth grade teacher in District 118, Palos East School District.
Betty's passion for travel took her across the globe to destinations such as the Amazon, Japan, Iceland, Sicily, and countless other countries. She also explored nearly every state in the United States, embracing the beauty and diversity of the world around her.
She is survived by her husband Gregory; her brother Michael Kamin (Deborah); her loving stepdaughters Cassandra Kopera and Theresa Silva (Juan); step-grandchildren, Selena Gonzalez and Michael Silva; and her nieces Annie Kamin and Mary Sweeney. Betty's cherished fur babies- Carly, Chessa, Atlas, and Brownie- brought her immense joy throughout her life.
