

He was born May 3, 1928 in the Bronx, New York and had been a resident of Margate, NJ prior to relocating to Marco Island in June 2016.Chet served in the US Army in the early 1950's and was stationed in the European Theater. Upon returning to the US he began a career in Hotel Management in New York City at the Belmont Plaza. In 1959 he was transferred to Atlantic City, NJ and continued his career working for the TIsh family owned hotels which included the Ambassador and the Colony. He held General Manager positions at the Sheraton Deauville in Atlantic City, NJ and the Rickshaw Inn in Cherry Hill, NJ. Chet was a proponent of bringing legalized gaming to Atlantic City and worked diligently on both the 1972 and 1976 campaigns. He served as the President of the Atlantic City Hotel/Motel Association 1976-1977. In 1986 he began a second career at Bally's Park Place in Atlantic City, NJ as a Craps Dealer until he retired in 2005 at 77 years old.
He is survived by his three sons, Chester "Chet" Koch 3rd of Collierville, TN; James "Jim" Koch of Brigantine, NJ; and Christopher "Chris" Koch Sr & his wife Vanessa "Dare" Koch of Marco Island FL. Seven grandchildren, Katrina "Koch" Canterbury & her husband Glen Canterbury, Gregory Koch, Andrew Koch & his wife Megan Koch, Brandon Koch, Christopher Koch Jr, Timothy Koch and Justin Koch. Three great grandchildren, Declan Canterbury, Sarah Canterbury and Freia Koch. His sister Rosemary "Koch" O'Loughlin of Coram Long Island, NY, and twenty four nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Chester "Chet" Koch Sr, Mother Mable "Schlag" Koch, his beloved wife of 49 years Joan "Quigley" Koch and his brother Frederick Koch.
