Henry Clay Van Essen passed peacefully in his home on Monday, June 6, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carol Van Essen, his brothers Steve Van Essen & Michael Van Essen, his sister Valerie Johnston, his step-son Shea Cruel and daughter-in-law Tashara Cruel. He was predeceased by his father Henry and mother Ellen Van Essen.
Henry was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as Supervisor of Environmental Services in various hotel and retirement communities. He lived in Punta Gorda before moving to Naples in 2021. He attended Grace Bible Church Naples and enjoyed the Tuesday Night Seasoned Saints Bible Study. He will be remembered for his love for the Lord, for a sweetness he had about him and his easy going personality. His favorite saying was, "God will always take care of us." He loved eating steak, reading books and watching action movies.
