M. Scot Kaufman, 76 years old, passed away surrounded by family and friends after a three-year battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis on 4/13/26 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, kindness and love.
Scot is survived by his wife, Patricia D. Kaufman to whom he was married for 54 wonderful years. They lived their lives guided by a passage from Saint Luke’s Gospel which reads, “Of those to whom much has been given, much will be expected”. Having been blessed by God in many ways, Scot was quick to give of his time, talent and treasure.
Scot is also survived by his two children, Scot P. Kaufman, married to Laura Kaufman, and Dr. Kristen Kaufman, married to Sam Thomas. Each of them brought Scot joy, laughter and love. His grandsons, Evan Kaufman and Cullen Kaufman were truly a source of pride and delight in Scot’s life. Scot’s brother, George Kaufman, also survives him.
Scot’s life will be celebrated at a service led by Pastor Ed Brandt at United Church of Marco Island on Saturday, May 30 at 2:00. There will also be a private service to celebrate Scot’s life in Bel Air, Maryland this summer.
