

1, 2021. He was a graduate of Central High School in 1945 and received his BA from Penn State
University, in 1952. During college Bob joined the R.O.T.C program at State College and, after
brief service at the Pentagon, was shipped off to occupied Germany where he served as a
lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corps. When he returned, Bob joined his father’s in business at
Koelle Greenwood Ford located on Chelton Avenue in Germantown, Philadelphia. He worked
there many years until the retirement of his father Clifford, when he moved the business to
Chestnut Hill where he eventually sold the dealership and moved to Marco Island, Florida.
Bob was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and was a long-time member of Kiwanis and
Pastorius Clubs.
Bob spent the remaining years of his life surrounded by the things he loved most; his family, his
dogs, his boats, and his beloved Penn State football team. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife
“Peggy” Margaret and was involved in the local scene of his adopted hometown doing Meals On
Wheels and helping out with Kiwanis activities.
Preceded in death by his parents Clifford R. Koelle and Beatrice, and brother, Russell Koelle.
He is survived by his loving wife and husband of 60 years, Margaret; and sons, Stockton R.
Koelle and Robert L. Koelle; grandson, Thomas Koelle and granddaughters, Cassandra, Solene,
Emma, Georgia and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the family’s determination.
