Timothy J. Filbin, 72, of Marco Island, FL passed away at home on July 8, 2020 after a valiant battle from quadruple bypass surgery. He was born in Grosse Pointe, MI on May 25, 1948, a son of the late William R. Filbin and Patricia (Breen) Filbin.
From the age of 13 years, he attended Columbia Military Academy. After graduation, Tim went on to Middle Tennessee State University and Macomb Community College obtaining a degree in business. He was proud to have served in the Army National Guard, reaching the rank of 2nd Lieutenant (Logistics).
His career was spent working as a U.S. Customs House Broker, first, for William R. Filbin & Co. Inc. and then as CEO for T.J. Filbin & Assoc. Division of Central Inc. Tim was highly respected in his profession.
Upon retirement, at age 43, Tim move to Marco Island where he met and married the love of his life and partner in crime, Pam. You rarely saw one without the other—-they were a team. He also became, or played at, a paint contractor to fill in his spare time. He and his partner, Jay, had too much fun to call it work.
Above all, Tim was so full of life and wanted nothing more than to bring smiles and laughter to everyone he met. He was a special man.
Tim is survived by his beloved wife Pam (Beard) Filbin; Brother-in-law Dana Beard (Donna) of Crane, MO; Brother-in-law Burl Beard (Rosa) of Tulsa, Ok; niece Kristin Beard of Austin, TX; nephew Kyle Beard of Austin, TX; niece Hayley Beard of Tulsa, Ok; several great nieces and nephew; Brother Bill Filbin of Marco Island, FL.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his special niece, Brandi Beard.
