

Anne Cofer Aaron, 77, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016. She was born in Pikeville, KY on April 1, 1939. Anne graduated from the University of Michigan and received a Masters in Librarianship from Emory University. She was married to the late William Henry Aaron for 23 years. Anne had a career in records management for the Municipal Authority of Georgia (MEAG) and was a school teacher at Dodgen Middle School in Marietta, Georgia, and at St. Catherine’s Girl’s School in Richmond, Virginia. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, P.E.O., Emory Board of Governors, American Records Management Association (ARMA), DeKalb Historical Society, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Associates. Anne had a passion for gardening, reading, symphony, opera, and theatre. She loved animals, delighted in hosting parties for family, friends and neighbors, and relished taking family trips to the beach. She is survived by her children, William Henry Aaron (Marti), Frances Carolyn Aaron Stille, and Benjamin Arnold Aaron (Rebecca); grandchildren, Ruth Anne Aaron, William Henry Aaron, John Grayson Stille, and Emma Rose Aaron; sister, Carolyn Wheat Cofer Bain (Gary); and niece, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Emory University. A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, November 20 from 2-5pm at the home of Bill and Marti Aaron. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church in Sandy Springs, Georgia, on Monday, November 21, at 11am.
