

Art was born in Covington, GA July 21, 1957 to John and Sylvia McCune. After graduating from Gordon High School he started serving in U.S. Army. He served in various states and countries and officially retiring after 22 years of service. After his military retirement he worked for 16 years as an overseas contractor.
He is survived by his wife Annette, daughter Dana(Wayne)VA, daughter Tamara(Tre)GA, his mother Sylvia-GA, brother Ira(Vicki)GA, Norris-GA, Jefferey (Christina)CA, Barron(Miriam)GA, Lavetta-GA, Phillip(Sonnie)GA and Rachel-GA, his 5 grandchildren-Mizell, Nevaeh, Natalie, Valerie and Grayson, aunts, uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John.
Art will be remembered not only as a loving family man but also as a dedicated Soldier whose passions included helping others, writing, playing pool, fitness, fashion, sports, and jazz.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Soldiers’ Angels (soldiersangels.org) in Art’s honor would be appreciated. Memorials and cards should also be sent to H.M. Patterson & Sons Canton Hill. The McCune, Mizell, Holliday and Wright families would like to thank everyone for their condolences, prayers and encouraging words.
A memorial service with full military honors for Mr. McCune will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM at H.M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Road NE, Marietta, GA 30068.
