Vann Houston, age 68 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Vann was born in Albany, Georgia on May 10th, 1956 to the late Bill Houston Sr. and Emma Lou Poppell Houston. Vann graduated from Deerfield Winsor High School and received an Industrial Engineering Degree from Georgia Tech in Atlanta. His distinguished working career included Bell South, Oracle and Busters Reprographics . In addition to his parents, he was also proceeded in death by a half brother, Ernest Thompson, Jr.
Vann is survived by his wife, Beth Houston; daughter, Katy Houston; son, Andrew "Andy" Houston; granddaughter, Brooke James all of Marietta; sister, Earline Thompson of Bristol, Ct.; many nieces, nephews, inlaws and friends.
Vann loved sports of all kinds, his favorite being football and golf. He was very involved in his children's school and extracurricular activities. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, Brooke. Vann was very outgoing and friendly person and truly never met a stranger.
A memorial service will be held Monday, November 11th at 2:00 pm - HM Patterson Canton Hill Chapel. The family will receive friends following Monday's service at the funeral home.
