

On Sunday, November 17, 2013, Mrs. Carol Sue Hedgecock Gannaway, 55, of Marietta, GA found peace in the arms of her Savior. She was born on December 9, 1957 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Martha and Charles Hedgecock. She grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Carol graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1976. She also attended Louisiana State University, where she received her Bachelors Degree in 1980. Carol enjoyed a career as a retail buyer, working for Federated Department Stores, Uptons, WH Smith and Service Merchandise. Her favorite department was toddler clothing. Carol was a loving and devoted mother and wife, possessed a caring spirit and was an extremely loyal friend. She enjoyed crafting. Her beloved husband of 17 years, Richard M. Gannaway, Jr. and daughter, Sue Ann Gannaway of Marietta, GA, survives Carol. She is also survived by parents-in-law, Richard and Joann Gannaway, sisters-in-law, Dianne Green and Lisa G. Pierce, all of Nashville, TN, and Deborah Hamilton of Baton Rouge, LA; cousin, Barbara Wood of Ft. Worth, TX; and dear friend, Pinney Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA. A memorial service will be held on December 9, 2013 at 1:30 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill; Marietta, GA. A graveside service will also be held at a later date at Green Oaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, LA.
