Carol D. Matthews

Carol is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen Matthews; her parents, Anne and Howard Donaghy; and her brother, Richard Donaghy.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Jeffrey Matthews, Jonathan (Mayumi) Matthews, and her cherished granddaughter, Sara, who brought her great joy.

Carol proudly attended Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, where she nurtured her creativity and lifelong appreciation for the arts.

She enjoyed sewing from an early age and later took up quilting. For years she was a member of the East Cobb Quilters’ Guild, and her quilts were displayed publicly as well as featured in books.

She will be remembered for her quiet strength, devotion to family, and the legacy of love she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, to honor Carol, memorials may be made in her name to the National Wildlife Federation at nwf.org.
