

Obituary
After fighting a three year battle with cancer, Christine Ferranti Dreger of Marietta, GA passed away at her home, with her family present, on May 25, 2016. Christine was born on February 25, 1961 in Youngstown Ohio. Christine graduated from Stone Mountain High School in 1979, and then attended Georgia State University where she met her husband, Garvin Taylor Dreger, Jr. Christine and Garvin were married on December 18, 1982.
Christine worked at Georgia Tech for over 30 years. She started as the administrative assistant for the Georgia Tech Foundation. When the Georgia Tech Ferst Center opened, Christine managed the Box Office for the theatre. She continued to support the Ferst Center and retired in February 2016 as the Assistant Director for the Georgia Tech Office of the Arts.
Christine had a passion for gardening and was also an avid beekeeper. She enjoyed crafting and was well known for her card making, especially during the Christmas season. Christine was also an avid runner and prior to her illness she completed two marathons.
Christine is survived by her husband, her three daughters: Jessica Igyarto and her husband Pete, Laura Dreger, and her husband Matt Igyarto, Melanie Dreger and her fiancé, Sam Coe. She has one grandchild, Taylor Dreger and another granddaughter, Rosemary Dreger Igyarto, who is expected to arrive in July. Christine is also survived by her mother, Joan Beck and husband Steve, as well as four sisters: Sue Quinn and her husband Steve, Jennifer McQueen and her husband Scott, Linda Parker and her husband Jason, Karen Ferranti, a special uncle William Wade, of Youngstown, Ohio, and a special best friend Dawn Sirface, of Hagerstown, Maryland.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday June 1, 2016 at the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta, GA. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday May 31 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at H. M. Patterson & Son Funeral Home at 1157 Old Canton Rd. Marietta, GA 30068. In lieu of flowers, Christine requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
