Claude Workman Henderson

Mr. Claude W. Henderson, age 87 of Marietta, GA passed away March 10, 2011. He was born in Bradley, SC and grew up on a farm in the Simpsonville community. Claude graduated from Simpsonville High School and went on to obtain his certification from the Palmetto School of Aeronautics. After graduation he joined the Army Air Corps and was stationed in Alaska during World War II. He retired from Delta Airlines as the General Foreman of Quality Control after 38 years. Claude was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Henderson (Newby). He is survived by his daughter Claudia Billirakis and her husband Nick, sons Charles Henderson and Craig Henderson and his wife Katherine Reed, grandchildren Michael and Matthew Billirakis, Peden and Liam Henderson, sister Lillian Eaton and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 14, 2011 at 1:00pm at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 13 from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Those wishing to make contributions in lieu of flowers, please make them to the Mt.
