

Mr. Dale Douglas, 74, of Marietta, GA passed away March 25, 2014. He was born on February 18, 1940 in Dallas, TX to the late James and Allie Douglas. As a teenager, Dale moved to Eugene, OR with his family. After graduation from high school, Dale served honorably in the United States Navy. He then attended Portland State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Dale was extremely intelligent, a brilliant engineer and an avid reader. He was a car enthusiast who enjoyed refurbishing cars, a passion he shared with his sons. For the past 2 years, Dale was with the Emmaus Group where he grew spiritually closer to God. He always felt at home with nature and loved the rugged Oregon Coast. Dale joyfully embraced his family and many friends, and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He created special nick-names for each of his children and grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as pop-pop. Dale leaves behind his beloved wife of 36 years, Maria Douglas, sons, Stephen and his wife Olivia Brooke Douglas, and Sean Douglas, daughters, Julianne Douglas, Dr. Susan Douglas and her husband Felix Dowsley, and Lauren Douglas and her husband Alain Rodriguez, grandchildren, MacKenzie, Tyler, Kaitlin, Peyton, Jude, Gabriella and Andrew, and brothers Dr. William Douglas and his wife Ginny and Scott Douglas and his wife Linda. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 6-9pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1:00pm in the chapel of H.M.
