Dana A Thomas

He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned a scholarship at GA Tech as a football manager. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University during his stint at Hitachi Telecom. He retired from United Parcel Service (UPS) with service as a district manager in the corporate medical division. His proudest moment at UPS was being a part of a team that successfully sent life-saving vaccines to very remote parts of South America.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hanging out with family, especially sons Evan and Alex, playing golf, playing cards, watching football, and listening to music.

Dana is preceded in death by father, Harvey Thomas; mother, Purity Thomas; and brothers, Darvey Thomas and Dale Thomas.

He is survived by spouse, Joanne Gust Thomas; sons, James Evan Thomas and Alexander William Thomas; sister, Maria Sliz; and brothers, Don Thomas and Doyle Thomas.

A memorial service will be held at the Canton Hill Chapel of H.M. Patterson & Son at 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, GA 30068 on Saturday, Aug 12, 2023, at 11:00AM.
