Delores Miner Fanto, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16,2026 after a brief illness. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Delores “Dee” Miner was born September 10, 1930, to Albert and Ethel Miner in Cavetown, Maryland. After high school, she studied art in Hagerstown, Maryland, competed in the 1948 Miss Hagerstown pageant, and worked for Fairchild Aircraft Company. There she met and married Frank L. Fanto, who would be her husband for 42 years. They relocated to Atlanta, Georgia for a work opportunity and to raise their family.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife and mother, she exercised her creative flair in every facet of her life, such as painting wall murals for the home nursery, sewing amazing Halloween costumes for her daughters, decoupaging kitchen cabinets, and participating in juried art shows with her oil portraits. She shared her love of her numerous canine companions by painting dog portraits for friends and family. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those she encountered.
As a devoted follower of Christ, she also used her artistic talent to share the good news of the gospel. In 2018, she published From My Window, a book of poetry and art sharing her reflections on nature, family, and faith.
Dee joins in Heaven her parents, Albert and Ethel, and her sister, Phyllis Marquiss, and her beloved husband, Frank.
Dee is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Fanto Swain and her husband Steve, and Amy Fanto Rush; three grandchildren, Amanda (Swain) Barron, Cory Rush, and Chelsey Rush; and three great grandchildren, Jude and Liam Barron, and Hailey Rush.
