

Mr. Donald “Don” Edward Emig, age 72, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Mr. Emig was born in in St. Louis, Missouri in 1947 to Merlin & Christine (Nigles) Emig. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Rockhurst University. He enjoyed a successful career in toy sales before retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, and watching the Atlanta Braves & St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. But his passion was his family.
Mr. Emig is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judie Senik. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Susan Emig; his daughters, Christy (Dean) Peterson and Cory (Andrew) Babcock; his four grandchildren, Adam Babcock, Catherine Babcock, Ryan Peterson, and Tyler Peterson; and his twin brother, Ron Emig.
The family will receive guests for visitation between 5:00pm – 7:00pm on Monday, August 24, 2020 at H.M. Patterson & Son – Canton Hill Chapel, in Marietta. (Due to COVID-19 protocols, all guests will be required to wear a face mask and social distancing will be observed while inside Canton Hill Chapel.) A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the Catholic Church of St. Ann, in Marietta. (Due to COVID-19 protocols, attendance is for registered guests.) All guests will be required to wear a face mask and social distancing will be observed. The Memorial Mass will be live-streamed and available to view long after the mass as well.
