Dot was actively involved in her church and enjoyed working on genealogy. She loved spending time with her sons and daughters-in-law. Her granddaughters were her special treasures. Hobbies included book club, cooking, quilting, and traveling with her husband, sons, and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Thomas W Lukens Sr; sons, Thomas W. Lukens Jr. and his wife Vera Lukens, Matthew B. Lukens and his wife JeriAnn Lukens, and Aaron S. Lukens and his wife Colleen Lukens; 3 grandchildren and 1 grandchild on the way; mother, Thealka Mae Peterson; siblings, Jeanne Boehm, Mary Ann Ratliff, Linda Simanek, and Jerry Benes.
The visitation will be held at 6:00-9:00 pm on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at H.M. Patterson & Son funeral home, 1157 Old Canton Road, NE, Marietta, GA 30068. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, August 4, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church building, 3155 Trickum Road, NE, Marietta, GA 30066. The interment will be held at Georgia Memorial Park, 2000 Cobb Parkway, SE, Marietta, GA 30060, for family and close friends.
