Mrs. Edna Lakata, age 87, of Kennesaw, passed away July 8, 2012. Edna was an avid shopper who was very generous with her purchases, and she held 36 jobs in her lifetime, including being a caregiver and a “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII. She was preceded in death by all five of her younger siblings.
She is survived by her daughters, Angie Everett of Marietta, and Linda (husband, Thomas) Bulifant of Bremen; four grandchildren, Lisa Hoggard of Marietta, Wendall Hobbs of Bremen, Brandon Everett of Marietta, and Megan Bulifant of Bremen; one great-grandchild, Jesse Hobbs of Bremen; many nieces and nephews residing in North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, at 2:00 PM in Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Herman Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
