She was a native of Marietta, but also had lived in Texas and California before returning to Marietta. Mrs. McClure worked as a Dietary Supervisor at Kennestone Hospital and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy for over 75 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Miles and Estelle Sams Motes, Sr.; sisters, Thelma Collie, Clara Jo Gibby, Betty Jean Motes; brothers, Vestus Motes, Miles Motes, Jr. and an infant sister that passed away shortly after birth.
Survived by her husband of 66 years, Joseph Carl McClure; son, Steve McClure; sister, Patricia Anderson and her husband, Richard; brothers, Felton Motes and his wife Sherri, James Motes; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday August 27 at 2 PM in the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastors Dannie M. Hix and Doug Stephenson officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 2 until 4 and again from 6 until 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
