Edward O’Hara Spears, age 71, passed away on October 2, 2023. Son of the late William O. Spears Jr. and Marie O’Hara, Edward was born on August 8, 1952 in Norfolk, Virginia. Throughout his career, he worked in sales from HiFi Buys and Omaha Steak Company. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He had a unique ability to always make people laugh and was the life of the party. He
loved to put a smile on everyone’s face. Edward also enjoyed listening to music. He was a member of the band, The Moondogs, who had a hit record in Denmark during the mid 1960s. Edward will always be remembered as the funny, loving man that he was and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen (Heneka) Spears; daughter, Marie Spears; sister, Mary Lou Coleman; nephews, Michael (Jessie) Coleman and Chuck (Christa) Coleman, Carter Coleman, Chase Coleman; brother, Bill (Karen) Spears; nieces, Susan (Alex) Spears Stewart, Carson and Reagan; Sarah (Corey) Spears Bishop, Logan, and friends to cherish his memory.
A memorial service to honor Mr. Edward Spears will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 1:00pm in the chapel of HM Patterson Canton Hill Chapel.
