Henrietta Gertrude (Kless) Leja, age 92, of Sandy Springs, Georgia, passed away on March 29, 2019. She was born in 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to Charles & Jennifer Kless. She retired from the Fraser Public School System where she worked as an elementary school secretary. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, traveling, playing bingo, playing golf, and gambling. Her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren fulfilled her life. She was a county Democratic Delegate and was very active in the Democratic Party, attending Democratic state conventions. She was invited to President Jimmy Carter’s inauguration and attended the inauguration of President Bill Clinton. She was proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed sharing those traditions with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Leo R. Leja. She is survived by her children, Linda (Larry) Bolterstein, Jeffrey (Katherine) Leja, and Richard (Mary) Leja; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also mourning her death is a close relative, Carole, as well as a host of family, loved ones, and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. Miguel Grave de Peralta as the Celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation to either the Salvation Army or the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit, Michigan.
