Beloved husband of Maggi and pre-deceased by his wife Connie and sister Peggie, passed peacefully at his home Thursday. He leaves behind daughter Sue (Paul), son Rob (Carol) and grandsons Rick, Jon (Sherry), Glen (Shanita) and Kyle (Lauren) and beautiful great-granddaughters Macey and Olivia.
Bob was born in Birmingham, AL to Holton R. Parris and Isabella Collins Parris and graduated from Central High School in Charlotte, NC. He joined the US Navy and spent time in the South Pacific during WWII. He graduated from Georgia Tech and married his sweetheart Connie. He worked for GE and then started his own company in 1966, Equity Utility Service (SUE spelled backwards). His children eventually joined in to help make the company successful while Bob pursued other interests and helped his grandsons achieve some of their desires. After Connie's passing, he married Maggi and worked a good program. Friend, sponsor and keeper of the principles, there are many people who can tell a fondly remembered story about Bob. He was sober for 28 years in Alcoholics Anonymous and he never met a stranger. He helped many alcoholics during his time in the program and he will be missed. Keep the Faith!
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice in Bob's memory.
