Mr. Jack P. McClendon, 76 of Marietta died Monday, November 14, 2011. Jack was a 1957 graduate of Georgia Tech in Atlanta. He went on to have a wonderful career with Carrier Corporation as Sales Representative commercial refrigeration. Mr. McClendon was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon. Jack was very active with Gideon International and Prison Ministries as well. He was an avid golfer and cherished his wife, children and grandchildren. Jack loved the Lord, always put God first in his life and really enjoyed to study his Bible. He is survived by his loving wife, Vera McClendon; son, Steve McClendon; daughters, Sherri O’Kelley and Staci Sykes, his brother Phil McClendon; ten grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
