Mr. John A. Gilbert, age 93, of Marietta, passed away July 11, 2011. Mr. Gilbert was of the Baptist faith, and he was preceded in death by his wife of over 63 years, Dora Ruth Gilbert.
He is survived by his son, Lamar Gilbert of Marietta, and his daughter, Doris Wortham, of Dallas; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 14 at 11:00 AM in Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tom Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Special thanks to Powder Springs Nursing and Rehab for “Papa.”
