

Mr. John “Jack” Quigley, age 74 of Marietta, GA passed away March 31, 2011. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, working on submarines as a sonar man. After serving his country, he worked on helicopters for Sikorsky for a few years. He then went to work for Control Data Corporation, retiring after 25 years. During his time at Control Data Corporation, he won many national awards as branch manager. After retirement he went to work for Nalley Chrysler Jeep in Roswell for 22 years. He loved to hunt, fish and bowl with his family and friends. He never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him and was wonderful with children. He strived to instill humanitarian efforts, good humor and work ethics in his children. He believed you reap what you sow. He understood the value of treating every person he met with kindness and respect. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ruth Quigley. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce B. Quigley of Marietta, GA, son John P. Quigley of Marietta, GA, daughter Joy Helen Silvey (Robert) of Fairhope, Al, granddaughter Priscilla Joyce Riley who is currently attending the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Al and his sister Patricia Smith of Philadelphia, PN. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 4:00pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
