On Thursday, December 29th, 2022, Joseph Hares Zeitouni, beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away at the age of 80. Joseph, or Big Joe as he was known to his loved ones, was born to Hares and Hafiza Zeitouni. He is survived by his wife Lynn, children Dena Ellis, Robert Bing and Heather Lyon, grandchildren Jack Lyon, Michael Bing, James Lyon, and Megan Bing, brother Elias, and sister Saydeh. While Joseph left his native country of Lebanon in 1964, the Land of Cedars was never far from his heart. He was proud of his heritage and shared it with everyone he met.
Big Joe studied hotel management in Lausanne, Switzerland and pursued a number of different careers, ranging from celebrity look-alike to small business owner. Big Joe was happiest when he was cooking for people or wheeling and dealing in the luxury car industry. He had a larger than life personality and people gravitated towards him. Big Joe was a father and mentor to so many, always offering a helping and guiding hand to others. He was an avid world traveler and a faithful supporter of the Atlanta Braves and Falcons. In his younger days, Joseph took a number of gigs as a Humphrey Bogart look-alike, and hobnobbed with several celebrities.
The service for beloved Big Joe will take place on Thursday, January 5th at 1:00 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill preceded by a viewing starting at 11:00 AM. The burial procession will proceed immediately following the service towards Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
