

Juventino “Jay” Torres, of Smyrna, Georgia, passed away on September 9, 2025, at the age of 81. He was born on June 11, 1944, in Brownsville, Texas, and later made Smyrna his home, where he built a remarkable life filled with service, dedication, and love for his family.
Jay had a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Air Force, proudly flying C-130 aircraft. He served with honor through four tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of numerous commendations and medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. His courage, professionalism, and commitment to his country left an enduring impact on all who served alongside him.
After retiring from the Air Force, Jay began a second career with Lockheed Martin, where he worked alongside leaders from around the world. He built friendships, shared his expertise, and gathered countless stories from his travels, even personally hosting international dignitaries in his home.
Above all, Jay cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marcela Rivera Torres; his children, Stephen J Torres, Daniel Jay Torres, and Nelda Rocha Torres. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marisela Rivera Berrones Dixon, and his son, David Albert Torres.
Jay’s legacy is one of service, strength, and love. His life will be remembered not only through his many accomplishments but also through the stories he shared and the family he held so dear. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace, flying once again, free of earthly bounds.
The family will hold a private memorial service in his honor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or a veterans’ organization of your choice, in recognition of Jay’s lifelong commitment to his fellow servicemen and women.
