Lauren Nicole Tennant

She graduated from Walton High School and went on to earn dual degrees in Speech Communications and Psychology, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Georgia State University. At the time of her passing, she was serving as a Research Coordinator with the Emory Behavioral Immunology Program at the Emory University School of Medicine, where her compassion and intellect contributed meaningfully to advancing mental health and medical research.

Lauren had a deep love for animals, nature, and learning. She found joy in running along trails and through parks, tending to plants and gardens, creating personalized gifts for those she loved, and exploring new ideas and experiences. Her kindness, creativity, and vibrant spirit touched many lives.

Lauren is preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert L. Tennant and Margaret Ann Tennant; her grandfather, Fred Hyatt Jr.; her uncle, Brad Morgan; and her aunt, Eileen Tennant.

She is survived by her parents, John and Leslee Tennant, brother, Ryan Tennant, grandparents Noel and Jumelia Smith, aunt, Nancy Hyatt, uncle Bobby (Ellie) Tennant, uncle Walter (Lynn) Tennant, aunt Nancy Morgan, aunt Sally (Terri) Tennant, uncle Jimmy (Mary) Tennant, aunt Peggy (Tommy) Sandretzky and aunt, Carol Tennant and 48 cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at Mt. Bethel Church. The family will receive guests between the hours of 11:00am and 2:00pm on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at the Atlanta Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Lauren’s honor to Angels Among Us Pet Rescue at angelsrescue.org, a cause close to her heart.
